Just seeing what everyone thought about these blinds and who all uses them. I am a big fan of climbers but been thinking about maybe getting a ground blind and the double bulls seem very conducive to archers. I could also do some turkey hunting out of them too. Whats everyone's opinions and are there any other blinds that are good for archery hunters besides the double bulls? Thanks

I have used and been pleased with Ameristep ground blinds other than the durability. They fade and wear out over the course of 3-4 years dependant upon the amount of usage.

I would like to know about these factors with the Double Bulls. I have never been able to swallow the price of them but maybe if they last longer than the ones I use it would be worth it.

I have an Ameristep brickhouse that I have been using for the last 6 or 7 yrs. and I love it. I am probably going to replace it in the next yr. or two. I leave it out and set up for 4 to 5 months at a time and it is really starting to show its use. I spray painted it about 2 years ago and that really helped. The small straps are rotting off, and the zippers are getting stiff. I am definitely going to replace it with the same thing. The only thing that would keep me from doing that is if they changed up the windows to much. I have looked at them in the cat. and it looks as if they have changed them but I will have to look at one set up to see if it is better or worse. They are priced right also, around 150 or less.

Thanks for all the input, does anyone know how much more room the double bulls have then other competitive blinds. There will be 2 hunters(archery gear) and sometimes a camera, just wondering what options can suit my needs before i drop some coin.

I have the Primos Ground Max Vision, it's ok.
If I had it to do over, I would check out the new ones by Yukon Tracks I think they are owned by Rivers Edge now?

I have several blinds, but the double bull is the one I use most now. I take it Turkey hunting with my kids, and then we can have 2 shooters with guns. If you are bow hunting, you would find it tough to get 2 shooters in it, but anything bigger is going to be a house. I can't imagine 2 people drawing on birds at the same time, anyway.

It is easy to use and pack, though it is heavy at about 20 pounds. I'll be in it again this spring, calling birds for my daughter, then hopefully drawing on one myself.

I have a Cabelas lightning- set pop-up. A bow hunter and a gun hunter can comfortably sit in it {perhpas 2 skinny bow hunters}. The blind pops up quick and i like the set up. The downsides are the blind is 4 inches too short for me to sit on a bucket and shoot my 60" recurve comfortably. The 2nd draw back is that you have to ensure you bend the leg joints in the right direction to fold up the blind. if you force it in the wrong direction, you will break the aluminum joint. I did this and had to fabricate a repair to the joint. Overall, i like the blind for it's quick set up and roominess. Double Bull blinds are simply 2 expensive.

I have a Ground Max Escape, before Primos bought the naming rights. And I love it. Had it for 3 years now and no fading or wear to speak of yet. It's light and easy to set-up & take down. I thought I needed the shoot thru mesh but I haven;t had any issues to tell me I need it yet.

I reciently purchased a 5 hub blind (like the DB Dark Horse) from Sportsmans Guide. I paid under $100 for it. The fabric is not as sturdy as the DB blinds, but I think for the money it will be a good investment. They have 3 or 4 blinds in there that are the same style, just a few differences like window types, shapes and sizes. May not be a bad thing to look into if you do not want to drop 3 bills or more for a DB.

I have the Ameristep Penthouse blind. This is the new style (not the teepee style, although I have one of those as well). The sides are each 78" long and the middle is 90" tall. There is plenty of room to draw a bow either sitting or standing if you so choose. The biggest drawback is the weight. I think it's somewhere around 30 lbs, but if you want to stretch out, this blind would allow you to do it.

I have hunted out of alot of the pop-up blinds and own 4 diferent ones. They all have there faults but the one that seems to be the studiest and last the longest with out turning PINK :x is the Double Bull. I actually got my Double Bull blind from an old lease of mine that someone had left behind. It was in sad shape because they had anchored it to a couple of trees in a big Mesquite flat and the thorns from the trees along with the high winds had done a number on it. I sowed up all the holes that I could and bought iron-on patches to close the holes where the material was actually missing. All this sounds pretty bad until you see this blind. Its in great shape now and is still working like a charm 4 years after all the repairs.

Its all in the quality of the material the stand is built out of. If you buy something that feels like a windbreaker jacket it will not last and it will probably turn Pink.
